A Message from our President
Greetings,
Thank you for visiting the official website of the Anniston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. We are truly honored.
This chapter has a membership of 66 very diverse college educated, professional women, ranging in ages of early 20s to beautiful 90s. This chapter was chartered in May 1965. For over 53 years, we have been committed Scholarship, Sisterhood, and Service. Our service area includes Calhoun, Cleburne and St. Clair Counties.
Our goal is to continue the work of our 22 Founders, with the implementation of our Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement.
Some of the initiatives we have developed stem from those five areas and include a mentoring program for youth which involves developing leadership skills, self-esteem, and scholastic achievement. Voter registration is a high priority as we attempt to keep the voter/public informed of the political issues. Health and wellness of everyone is a main focus and we host events that inform the community of the silent killer “heart disease” and bring an awareness to HIV/AIDS, while keeping breast cancer in the forefront.
